The last store at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to reopen from a multi-month refurbishment is now open. Mickey’s of Hollywood closed back in mid-May to refurbish the space just like Keystone Clothiers and Legends of Hollywood. Many thought Mickey’s of Hollywood would reopen with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge or even shortly thereafter, but here we are nearly a month later. While some of the exterior displays aren’t ready to be unveiled yet, Mickey’s of Hollywood reopened this morning with a brand new look!

I really dont care for the new Disney look in the stores. Sparse and uninspired. I am in my 50’s and still look for the “fantasy” in WDW and I am disappointed these days. I enjoyed the old whimsical look. I am looking to escape, Maybe I am in the minority, I note the departure from strong theme in new resorts, unattractive G.E. and new World of Disney. The new stores look like streamlined 80’s layouts. But not warm or welcoming.
I agree. Disney took the “Disney” out of Disney. One of the most fun things about going into a Disney park store was that it was unmistakably Disney. The look, the music, the vibe, you were at Disney, and it made you want to buy Disney merch. I am also in my 50s. These retooled stores now look like any other upper social class store on the Magnificent Mile or 5th Ave. Lost all of their Disney charm.
