There’s even more tree clearing in Future World to support work related to the Epcot overhaul project. This time, the work is taking place in Future World east, over by Guest Relations. As you can see in the photos below, a lot of trees have been cleared to give guests a good view of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind building.

First, here’s a look at the most recent concept art that shows the area in question. More specifically, the area in question is the green space under the monorail track, between the former Universe of Energy pavilion and Spaceship Earth.

Here’s a look at the tree clearing from our visit to Epcot earlier today.

It’s unknown what this tree clearing is for considering that concept art shows this area as a green space, and there are no plans to demolish this side of Innoventions. It’s possible that this could be a new walkway in the future, perhaps connecting the area near Spaceship Earth to the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction.
