Disney Estimates $175M Loss Due to Coronavirus Internationally

Both Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland remained closed to guests during today’s investor call where Disney put a number on the impact of the Coronavirus at their international parks.

During today’s investor call, Disney provided an estimate of losses due to closing their parks internationally as a response to the Coronavirus. The Q2 losses break down as follows:

  • Shanghai Disneyland (est 2 month closure): $135M loss
  • Hong Kong Disneyland (est 2 month closure): $40M loss

These numbers are in additon to the already substantial losses estimated due to the political turmoil in Hong Kong.

Disney has not announced a planned reopening date as officials continue to monitor the Coronavirus outbreak.
