WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure Attraction Entrance Concept Art Released

With news that Avengers Campus won’t open on July 18th anymore due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we decided to take a virtual tour of the Avengers Campus via concept art on the Disneyland website. One piece of concept art that we haven’t covered here yet is the entrance to the Spider-Man attraction titled WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.

Before we take a look at the concept art, here’s the description of the ride:

    WEB Open House Goes Haywire

Embark on an action-packed adventure alongside the amazing Spider-Man! When Peter Parker’s helpful but otherwise buggy Spider-Bots get stuck in replication mode and escape from a WEB Workshop, Spider-Man must stop the rampaging robots before they wreak total techno-havoc across Avengers Campus. Problem is, they’re rapidly leveling up and becoming tough to beat!

Your task? Hop aboard a WEB Slinger vehicle and help weave a frenzied web to trap these friendly neighborhood sidekicks in true Spidey style. It’s up to you to unleash your inner hero and save the Campus from complete chaos!

Perfect for up-and-coming recruits—with no height restrictions.

The backstory of the attraction is that we’re attending a WEB (Worldwide Engineering Brigade) open house when things go wrong. It’s that very open house that dominates the attraction facade as seen in the entrance concept art below.

Other notable elements in the concept art shows an outdoor queue and even an escaped Spider-Bot.

The queue will eventually move inside, where Peter Parker and the aspiring inventors ask guests to wear 3D glasses and test drive their latest invention, the WEB Slinger vehicle, which allows them to sling webs like Spider-Man and experience what it’s like to have super powers.

Disney has also slyly updated the concept art below. Keep reading for the change.

Here’s a look at the concept art on the website that appears to show Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! in the background. Will there be a portion of the ride that is outdoors or at least with views outdoors?

As seen from this overview photo, the Spider-Man attraction will be on the west (left) side of the themed land.

Here’s a look at the ride exterior from the ground.

    1. I always wondered if there was to be an “outdoor portion” of the ride, to be seen. That early art concept certainly suggested that, with ToT in back. Now, ToT has been removed, so who knows what would or could be in this portion of the attraction? Maybe it’s a fake sky now, lol.
