Disney: Cast Members Will Not Be Pin Trading

One question we get a lot is: will pin trading continue when the parks reopen? With some Disney owned and operated locations now open at Disney Springs, we have an answer. All Cast Members have been instructed not to pin trade at this time. As Disney continues to evaluate the future of pin trading, Cast Members won’t be seen with pin trading lanyards or pouches.

One of the options that we have been told Disney is evaluating is the use of a centralized pin board. This would allow for easier social distancing and wouldn’t require Cast Members to physically interact with the trade. Disney hasn’t come up with a final solution at this time.

    1. This makes me soooo sad! PLEASE keep us posted if you hear anything else! I hope that this is just a temporary thing. It is such a popular activity, I can’t image that they’d completely phase it out forever. Trading off pin boards is ok, but nothing like the personal interaction with a cast member … plus it’s very rare for pin boards not to always be totally picked over. The lanyards and pouches get refreshed so much more. It’s the main reason I go to WDW any more. I may have to cancel my October trip if they don’t bring it back, at least in some form, by then. Fingers crossed!!!
