Disney-Owned Shops and Restaurants Reportedly Set to Reopen May 27th at Disney Springs

According to a report from THR, Disney will be reopening Disney-owned retail and dining locations such as World of Disney on May 27th. Note: An earlier version of this article said May 24th, which was the date originally reported by THR.

THR spoke with Eric Clinton, president of UNITE HERE, Local 362 about Cast Member concerns about returning to work. Cast Members part of the union reportedly have a “mixed bag of emotions” over concerns about contracting COVID-19 themselves while working. That said, many Cast Members have reportedly had issues with Florida’s unemployment system and are anxious to get a paycheck again.

Clinton didn’t comment on when the parks might reopen and Disney themselves haven’t announced a reopening of Disney-owned shops and dining locations yet.
