The Snow Must Go On! Frozen Sing-Along Returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios October 5th

Disney has announced that For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on October 5th. The show, which did not reopen with the rest of Disney’s Hollywood Studios back in mid-July due to a dispute with the Actors’ Equity union, will have adjustments to account for appropriate physical distancing. Disney also said that there would be some adjustments to “staging”. The addition of the Frozen Sing-Along comes at the removal of the Disney Society Orchestra (and the firing of the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra).

In an advisory put out a week ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that people should “avoid singing, chanting, or shouting, especially when not wearing a mask and within 6 feet of others”. It’s unlikely that Disney would want to have Elsa wearing a mask, but CDC recommendations say that “Masks are strongly encouraged in settings where individuals might raise their voice (e.g., shouting, chanting, singing)”.

The Dapper Dans returned earlier this month, singing without the use of a face covering, but they were also in an outdoor space which is largely considered safer than an indoor space like the Hyperion Theater where the Frozen Sing-Along takes place.
