In a year where even the viability of an EPCOT festival was drawn into question due to physical distancing restrictions, the Taste of Food and Wine Festival was born. Devoid of certain elements, like concerts, the Taste of Food and Wine Festival was a way to encourage guest visitation to EPCOT at a time where it was the least requested park on the Disney Park Pass reservation system.
While the festival was originally announced with no end date, Disney has officially announced that it will be concluding on November 22, 2020. Just a few days later, EPCOT will debut the Festival of the Holidays on November 27th. Like the “Taste of” event before it, the Festival of the Holidays will also be missing some traditional pieces such as the Candlelight Processional as Disney continues to search for a way to safely bring back live entertainment.
Holiday kitchens will return around World Showcase promenade with favorites like American Holiday Table featuring Slow-roasted Turkey with Stuffing and Bavaria Holiday Kitchen with dishes like Cheese Fondue in a Bread Bowl.
Guests will be invited to step inside World ShowPlace to enjoy the returning group, JOYFUL!, who present a journey through R&B, Gospel, contemporary and traditional Christmas and holiday music. Also, the Voices of Liberty will bring their incredible 8-part harmonies to the America Gardens Theatre stage for a special concert of favorite carols and songs of the season.
