With new state guidelines out today, many are wondering what they mean in terms of an actual, tangible opening date for Disneyland. In reality, it will be a waiting game to see how Orange County fares in the weeks and months ahead, but new insight from Orange County Health Care Agency Director Clayton Chau (via OC Register) said that a vaccine will likely be needed for a county the size of Orange County to enter the yellow tier.
“I think for a large county like us, especially a county with institutions of higher education where folks come in from outside the county and outside the state, it’s going to be very hard to achieve the yellow tier,” Chau said. “Personally, I think that we can look forward to a yellow tier by next summer, hopefully.”
Of course, it’s that last part that gives insight into when Disneyland will be able to open given that the county must be in the yellow “minimal” tier for large theme parks to reopen per the new state guidance.
