Disney CEO: New Mask Guidelines from CDC Are “Very Big News”, Hints At Summer Changes to Policy

In an earnings call this afternoon, Disney CEO Bob Chapek briefly talked about the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about masks.

As a refresher, the CDC handed out new guidance today that essentially said that people who are fully vaccinated can return to normal without needing to wear a mask or observe physical distancing.

With that as a background, here’s what Chapek said during the call:

Obviously today’s guidance that we got from the CDC in terms of those that were vaccinated do not necessarily need to wear masks anymore, both outdoors and indoors, is very big news for us, particularly if anybody’s been in Florida in the middle of the summer with a mask on. That could be quite daunting.
