A new rumor is in to BlogMickey.com following confirmation of an Incredibles-themed makeover of the rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. While we expect to see a heavy presence of The Incredibles inside of the guest rooms, a different approach is said to be considered for areas outside of the rooms.
Before we get into our rumor, let’s take a look at what Disney has announced as it relates to The Wave and lobby refurbishments:
In the lobby, you’ll soon see a collection of modern art pieces as well as historical, behind-the-scenes photographs of Disney’s Contemporary Resort in development and under construction. The resort’s lobby restaurant, The Wave… of American Flavors, will also soon close to make way for a reimagined dining experience in time for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration.
Taking what Disney has announced into account, our sources indicate that The Wave…of American Flavors will absorb the historical theming that the lobby is getting, and the new dining experience that Disney eludes to in their press release will be Steakhouse ’71.
Steakhouse ’71 will reportedly take cues from the Steakhouse 55 concept at the Disneyland Hotel, and the restaurant will be decked out in historical photos of not only construction of The Contemporary, but also early construction of Walt Disney World. This theme will be heavy in nostalgia, and sit in contrast with The Incredibles theme taking place in the guest rooms.
Of course, as with any rumor you should take any information here as unofficial unless and until Disney confirms it.
