Earlier today, Disney announced their lineup of 2021 holiday season offerings for all four Walt Disney World theme parks:
- “Disney Very Merriest After Hours” Replaces Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom
- 2021 Holiday Entertainment Announced for Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- 2021 Holiday Entertainment Announced for Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- 2021 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays Dates Announced
Disney also announced that as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations, Cinderella Castle will alternate between the Beacons of Magic projections as seen below, and the holiday projections throughout the night.
In 2020, the holiday projections were a Cinderella Castle Dream Lights replacement option, and they will continue to serve in that role in 2021.
This will leave no room for the Cinderella Castle Dream Lights this year, which were always questionable given the 50th Anniversary decorations installed. It’s likely that there will be no Dream Lights in 2022 either as the 50th Anniversary decorations on Cinderella Castle will be installed through at least Spring 2023 at Magic Kingdom.
