The physically distanced character “sightings” that Disney soft-opened recently are now officially part of the operating schedule at Magic Kingdom. These new “sightings” allow for an individualized character experience while still remaining physically distanced. This is sort of a hybrid offering between a traditional meet and greet and an outdoor character encounter such as in a specific area or cavalcade. These “sightings” allow you to talk and interact with a character, but hugs and autographs are still off-limits. Also, there are no PhotoPass photographers currently stationed at the “sightings”, so you’re on your own for photos.
Princess Fairytale Hall
In Fantasyland, guests can meet with Cinderella, Tiana, Elena, or Rapunzel. The princesses are kept behind ropes to prevent guests from getting too close. Guests are also instructed to keep face masks on during the encounter as the “sightings” take place indoors and Disney’s current rules require guests to keep face masks on while inside.
Town Square Theater
Over at Town Square Theater, Mickey Mouse is dressed up in his EARidescent costume and meets guests in the familiar Magician Mickey space. Tinker Bell is not available to meet at this time.
Wait times for the character sightings are available in the My Disney Experience map, but have not been added to the Disney Genie Tip Board. Lightning Lane is not available for any of the character sightings – the queue is standby only.
