A report from the LA Times’ Ryan Faughnder says that Geoff Morrell is stepping down as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of The Walt Disney Company.

Morrell started with Disney on January 24, 2022 and made it just over three months with the company. In an internal email, Morrell told staff that “it has become clear to me that for a number of reasons it is not the right fit”.

Morrell reportedly advocated for silence early on in the controversy related to the “Don’t Say Gay” law – a move that backfired on Chapek and Co. almost immediately.
