FIRST RIDE: Expedition Everest Opens Early Following Lengthy Refurbishment at Animal Kingdom

This afternoon, guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom were surprised with an early reopening of Expedition Everest! The roller coaster, which was officially scheduled to open tomorrow, April 16th, opened around 3pm this afternoon and we were the first guests to ride!

Expedition Everest has been closed since January 4th for software and hardware updates to the ride system. No show changes were made and the queue remains largely untouched since before the refurbishment. The Yeti remains in “B-Mode”, unmoving and with a strobe light.

Here’s our video of the moment the attraction reopened, walking the length of the queue, and a full ride through on Expedition Everest!
