Disney Vacation Club has announced that the Top of the World Lounge will be reimagined into “Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair” and reopen on July 11th. The redesigned lounge will remain exclusive to DVC and celebrate all that is villainous.
While, at first glance, the Top of the World Lounge may look just as you remember when it reopens atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, it won’t take long for eagle eyes to spot some chilling changes. Beyond the new carpeting and furnishings that give the place that “new lounge” smell, look for a few things left behind by deliciously devious Disney characters who appear to have claimed the space as their own during its temporary closure (and left in a hurry when our Cast returned).
What won’t be different are the views for which the lounge is famous. Whether you prefer the merriment of Magic Kingdom Park or the tranquility of Bay Lake, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more picturesque perch anywhere around the neighborhood.
A pre-opening event will be held for Disney Vacation Club Members and signups will open soon. Disney will announce more details shortly.
