Popular Banyan Tree Preservation Underway, Demolition Continues at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for New DVC Tower

Earlier today, we took a spin on the monorail to check in on the latest work for the upcoming Disney Vacation Club tower coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We’ll start with a look at the site from the monorail before taking a wider look at the work from the resort grounds.

As we work past the site from east to west, can see that Disney is attempting to preserve a large tree that sits within the boundaries of the demolition site.

This tree appears to be the banyan tree that was used for countless vacation photos and even as a wedding venue. It’s good to see that Disney is working on relocating the tree and we hope they share more details about where it ends up.

Continuing through the site, we can see that crews are still working on hauling off the demolished Spirit of Aloha remnants.

Changing things up a bit, we decided to get some photos from on the Polynesian Resort grounds as well. Here’s what we saw.
