Disneyland Resort Cast Member Workforce Now Larger Than In 2019

According to a report from the Orange County Business Journal, the Disneyland Resort now employs more Cast Members than they did in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown and subsequent layoffs. The report tallies 34,000 Cast Members, which passes the 2019 headcount of roughly 32,000 Cast Members.

As Walt Disney once said, ‘You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality,’ I’m grateful that we’ve welcomed back so many of our cast members since reopening.
Ken Potrock, Disneyland Resort President

The increase in Cast Members comes ahead of a hiring freeze announced by Disney CEO Bob Chapek. Layoffs are also expected, but likely not in the parks segment of the business.
