Following the installation of construction walls and some land clearing back in June, work has expanded to take over an entire walkway near Harambe Market in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently, we noticed that construction walls now completely blocked one of the walkways to the Harambe Market dining area in Africa.
Here’s the view when approaching Africa from the Asia walkway.
One of the better construction signs in recent memory not only illustrates how to get to Harambe Market from the blockade, but also advertises the food that you’ll find when you get there, and lets you know that it’s an “easy walk” (so stop your complaining!).
When you make your way around the detour, you’ll find that construction walls have been expanded to cover the entire walkway near Harambe Market, but that the delicious dining area remains open to guests who brave the “easy walk”.
A peek into the construction site shows that Disney is working on building a new low wall and perhaps a new structure in an area that was previously just vegetation.
Disney World has not announced what the project is for, but Cast Members expect the work to continue for the next month or so.
