The expanded seating area at Harambe Market is now open after roughly 9 months of construction. Harambe Market is a very popular quick-service location in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and is usually guarded by a Cast Member during peak lunch times to ensure that only guests who are dining there are using a table.
This expanded seating area introduces more than 90 chairs, which should help during peak lunch hours. The expanded seating area is actually connected to the Tamu Tamu Refreshments seating area, which should encourage guests looking for a table to find an additional 90 or so seats there as well.
Here’s a look around the area, which is wonderfully themed, and fits in well with the rest of the Africa land at the park. When approaching Harambe Market proper, the expanded seating area will be to the right, past the Malimwengu Guest House. It’s easily identified by the brown thatched roof.
When approaching from near the Tamu Tamu Refreshments area, or from Asia, the expanded seating area will be the first thing you see before arriving at Harambe Market.
