Good morning from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where a new baby has joined the savanna at Kilimanjaro Safaris. A baby giraffe has joined the tower of giraffes already roaming. We made it out to Disney’s Animal Kingdom this morning to give you a first look at the baby giraffe!
Baby Giraffe at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Guests hoping to catch a glimpse of the baby giraffe will have to hop aboard the popular Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction in the Africa section of the theme park. Kilimanjaro Safaris offers a view of more than 30 different species of animals.
The new baby giraffe is named Tucker, and he’s the son of Mara. Tucker is the first Masai giraffe born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom since 2021. Mara, who joined our savanna in 2015, has proudly expanded her family, not once, but three times now.
We had to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris twice this morning to spot Tucker, who joined the savanna after the rope drop rush. Unfortunately, Tucker was more interested in breakfast than posing for the camera, so we’ll follow our photos with some released by Disney.
Currently, guest safari trucks aren’t able to stop at any point during the savanna portion of the ride due to Tucker’s arrival, making photos more difficult than normal, but there was a parking lot of Disney trucks able to snap some photos.
