Later this year, a new show will open in the Tree of Life Theater called Zootopia: Better Zoogether. The new show will be the first to introduce the Zootopia IP to Disney’s Animal Kingdom after plans shifted from a DINOSAUR retheme to an It’s Tough to be a Bug replacement. According to Walt Disney World, Zootopia: Better Zoogether will feature Officer Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and other favorites from the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios movie as they come together in a new, original story featuring stunning visual effects and interactive surprises.
Construction Begins on New Attraction Entrance
While visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom today, we noticed that new construction walls have been installed at the former entrance to It’s Tough to be a Bug. It is believed that this will also be the entrance for the new Zootopia show, and if that’s the case, then work has now begun on the new entrance.
Here’s a look at the area following the closure of It’s Tough to be a Bug, and then the removal of the attraction sign.
And now here’s a look at the area today, surrounded by construction walls. Other walkways in the area are not impacted by the construction walls, including the Tree of Life Gardens, which is a trail that runs along the front of the Tree of Life, connecting this area to an area near the Creature Comforts Starbucks on the opposite side of Discovery Island.
