Fireworks headline EPCOT every night, but this particular performance had a specialized audience and a custom design. The American Pyrotechnics Association (APA) held its convention at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts from September 28th through October 2nd. Disney Live Entertainment (DLE) created the show for attendees, according to the video’s post and materials shared by event organizers. The APA represents the fireworks industry, so the crowd knew exactly how much effort went into every effect.
DLE staged the show on World Showcase Lagoon with the same infrastructure that powers Luminous: The Symphony of Us each night, including the fireworks barges and water fountains. Luminous relies on six main barges and 24 firework show platforms. We noted the setup in our coverage of its first full test. The nightly show runs about 17 minutes, which makes this version roughly six minutes shorter.

A Soundtrack Full of Disney Favorites
The 11-minute show used more than ten musical selections from Disney films, including music from Impressions de France, the film that plays at EPCOT’s France pavilion. Here is a list of most of the songs that were featured in the show:
- “You Can Fly” | Peter Pan
- “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” | Fantasia
- Music from “Impressions de France” | EPCOT
- “I Am Moana” | Moana
- “How Far I’ll Go” | Moana
- “Married Life” | Up
- “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” | Toy Story
- “Immortals” | Big Hero 6
- “Circle of Life” | The Lion King
- “When You Wish Upon a Star” | Pinocchio
The lineup opens with the playful flight of “You Can Fly” and closes with “When You Wish Upon a Star,” the song most associated with Disney itself. Pixar favorites “Married Life” and “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” arrive midway through. “Circle of Life” brings the sweep of The Lion King late in the set.
Narration Tailored to Fireworks Professionals
Narration during the show addressed fireworks professionals directly, a fitting choice for this audience.
It was a great showcase for DLE. The pyro team leveraged the Luminous hardware guests see every night and tailored a show for a very different crowd, one that appreciates the work behind every shell.
