While visiting EPCOT recently, we noticed that crews were in the process of preparing the centerpiece barge for Luminous The Symphony of Us nighttime fireworks show. As part of the work, the fireworks tower was extended, offering a wonderful look at the hardware configuration that creates a spectacular effect near the finale of the show.

First, here’s a look at the effect during the finale of Luminous.

Here’s a look at the hardware configuration, showcasing just how many fireworks launch tubes are required for the effect. It’s also possible that this isn’t even the full hardware as it looks like there might be room for more tubes.

The column seen in the photo below typically is retracted into the barge, only extending during the finale song.
