For the first time that we’ve seen since Luminous The Symphony of Us debuted back in December 2023, World Showcase Lagoon is free of any hardware. This was the original intention for the new Luminous nighttime spectacular following negative feedback for the permanently moored hardware used in Harmonious. While it was not uncommon to see most of the hardware removed from the Lagoon in recent months, the centerpiece barge was a common sight in the Lagoon even when the other barges were moved backstage overnight.
Late last month, we saw crews test piloting the centerpiece barge around the lagoon and practicing docking it ahead of today’s milestone of an empty lagoon. Here’s a look back at crews driving the centerpiece barge.

There are still permanent elements in World Showcase Lagoon such as a dock and electrical components. That said, the hardware for the show is fully movable, and today was our first look at the Lagoon without any hardware since the show debuted back in December.
