UPDATE (6pm): Rise of the Resistance has reopened.
Pirates of the Caribbean isn’t the only major attraction that has failed to operate at all today. Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has not opened at all today either. The headliner attraction is complex and utilizes many different show techniques that cause some sort of downtime most days. In fact, over the last month, Rise of the Resistance has faced some sort of downtime on 80% of days. When it faces downtime, it averages anywhere from 30-90 minutes of downtime per event, according to thrill-data.com.
Usually, downtime at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is remedied in roughly 30-40 minutes after a system reset. However, the attraction failed to open with the park this morning and is still facing downtime as of 5pm.
Guests who have purchased an Individual Lightning Lane for the attraction will be eligible for a refund.
