Country Bears Begin Rehearsals for New Show Debuting This Summer at Magic Kingdom

Over the weekend, the Country Bear Jamboree closed as the 1971 show had its final performance before a completely reworked show debuts this summer. We stopped by Magic Kingdom this morning and snapped some photos of the current exterior of the attraction, complete with a sign announcing that the bears are rehearsing for a new show.

Frontierland was pretty empty this morning, but it won’t be like that for much longer. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to open sometime this year, which will make this corner of Magic Kingdom more popular than it has been in quite some time.

Currently, a stage is set up in front of Grizzly Hall, but it’s for the Cast Member service celebration party tonight. This stage has been here for years, and despite online speculation that it could be for a temporary entertainment act while the Country Bear Jamboree is closed, this stage should be gone in a day or two.

Two signs replaced the in-story concert posters that were at the front of the attraction. They advertise that the show is currently closed and that a new show is coming.

Guests looking for a last-minute Country Bear Jamboree souvenir can find a penny press near the venue. It is the same penny press that was previously in the lobby and features the old names and looks for the bears. We expect that there will be some changes to the costuming and even a name change or two when the attraction reopens as the Country Bear Musical Jamboree this summer.

    1. I hope this doesn’t mean the Country Bears won’t still be out in Frontierland roaming around and meeting guests!
