Broadway Performer Michael James Scott as Honorary Grand Marshal to Celebrate Black History Month at Magic Kingdom

In honor of Black History Month, Broadway performer and Orlando native Michael James Scott appeared as the honorary grand marshal at Magic Kingdom this afternoon. Scott, who is well known for his portrayal as Genie in the Aladdin theater production, grew up in Orlando and is a graduate of Dr. Phillips High School Theatre Magnet Program.

We made it out to Magic Kingdom today to grab a few photos of the grand marshal processional, which runs before the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Guests looking to enjoy a performance from Scott can watch him in the Disney on Broadway Concert Series at EPCOT February 9, 11, 12, 15, 18 and 19.
