Right on cue, posted wait times are increasing and crowds are beginning to build for Easter Week at Walt Disney World. The increase in crowds follows an expected lull over the last week or so as lower-tier Annual Passes are blocked out from the parks following a mid-March Spring Break surge.

For a refresher, here’s a look back at March 2023 wait time patterns (via thrill-data), showing the mid-March surge, a relative lull in crowds, and then a secondary surge closer to Easter.

We can see that a similar trend is starting to develop this week, following an expected lull in crowds last week, following the earlier Spring Break increase around March 11th.

With Easter scheduled for March 31st this year, expect wait times to remain high through the end of this week before moderating a bit for April and lowering in May ahead of a possible summer increase.

A midday check on wait times shows a handful of attractions with more than a 2-hour wait, a number of attractions with more than a 90-minute wait, and nearly 30 attractions and experiences with more than an hour-long wait.

The Disney Genie+ skip-the-line service appears to be a popular option for many guests, with Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios options selling out earlier in the day. If you’re planning on visiting Walt Disney World this week, be sure to pack your patience as increased crowds and wait times are expected through Easter.
