Walt Disney Imagineering has pulled back the curtain in a big way today, giving guests a sneak peek at some of the big projects on the horizon for Walt Disney World. First, we received a sneak peek at some of the impressive Audio-Animatronics that will delight guests during the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction at Magic Kingdom (and Disneyland, later this year). Then, Disney confirmed that they are moving forward with plans to expand Magic Kingdom Beyond Big Thunder Mountain and that the first permits will be filed soon. Next, Walt Disney Imagineering offered an amazing behind-the-scenes look at the programming and work that is going into creating the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Audio-Animatronics in their first episode of the We Call It Imagineering YouTube series.
That brings us to the most recent update – a 3D model of the plans for reimagining DinoLand USA into a Tropical Americas-themed land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In a short video posted to Instagram, Imagineers (literally) pulled back the curtain to show the rudimentary 3D model for the Tropical Americas land that was first revealed in concept art shown at the 2023 Destination D23 event at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
In the concept art below, we can see that an Encanto-themed area will sit roughly where Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama is currently. The DINOSAUR attraction will be rethemed to Indiana Jones. Other areas of the land are less defined, but with Imagineers visiting Mexico, we’d put some money on Coco being represented in some way.
Here’s a look at the video, and the model that represents that plans are very much moving forward for the DinoLand USA reimagining.

Why no Raging Spirits roller coaster addition? It will pair nicely with the new Indy Jones makeover and replace the removed Primeval Whirl coaster. Animal Kingdom needs more park capacity. All minor parks need more ride capacity.
