There’s a new act in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom that features Hindustani Raga music and the sounds of the tabla and sitar. The new act is called “Beats and Strings” and it can be found in the My Disney Experience app. Today, there are six showtimes and the sets are roughly 20 minutes long.

Members of the Beats and Strings group play traditional Indian instruments called the tabla and sitar. Played together, these 2 instruments create “raga” music—a melodic framework for improvisation.

The new “Beats and Strings” act follows the iconic Chakranadi act which ended last year after performer Stephan Mikés sadly passed away in October 2023.
