Bakso, the baby Sumatran Tiger born last September at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, has made his debut at the Maharajah Jungle Trek in the Asia section of the theme park. The little guy debuted to guests today and spent some of his morning exploring the exhibit that he and his mother Sohni roam.

Since it was his first day out, Bakso required some encouragement from his mom, Sohni. Sohni was roaming and running around the exhibit, trying to get Bakso to follow her, and eventually, he did! When we left, he was still only interested in exploring a small portion of the exhibit near the entrance to his backstage home, poking his head out and playing with mom occasionally.

Bakso seemed to really like the cover of some foliage right next to the entrance, allowing a way to hide right when entering the exhibit. Bakso is Sohni’s third cub after she gave birth to Anala and Jeda back in 2018.

Here’s Sohni encouraging Bakso to join her out in the enclosure, which she enjoyed exploring a bit before Basko joined because it was drained of water.

Finally, Basko had the courage to explore on his own!
