According to a new rumor from BlogMickey.com sources, the Liberty Belle riverboat has been moved at a backstage marina. This is the first movement that has been reported for the iconic vessel in four months. The move is reportedly to allow for the riverboat to be pulled out of the water. What happens next is unknown. Here’s the latest.
Liberty Belle Riverboat Moved, Future Uncertain
After the Rivers of America was closed in July, Walt Disney World moved the Liberty Belle riverboat to a backstage holding area near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The Liberty Belle stayed in this backstage location for nearly a month before we first reported that it was moved to a backstage service marina north of Magic Kingdom in early August.
A few days later, friend of the site Bioreconstruct took to the skies over Magic Kingdom to capture photo evidence of what we reported – that the Liberty Belle riverboat had been moved from Magic Kingdom to a watercraft service area north of Magic Kingdom.
It’s at this backstage marina that the Liberty Belle riverboat has sat since August. Bioreconstruct has periodically checked in on the riverboat while taking helicopter tours over the Magic Kingdom area.
The Liberty Belle riverboat was last spotted on November 30th, photo below. The photo below actually serves as a good illustrative photo for what our sources say has been a recent movement for the Liberty Belle riverboat.
According to BlogMickey.com sources, the Liberty Belle riverboat has been moved at the backstage marina from the location where it has been docked for the past four months to the slip where the ferryboat is pictured in the photo below.
This relocation is notable because the slip where the Liberty Belle riverboat now resides is the same ramp that Disney utilizes to pull watercraft out of the water.
Of course, what happens next once the Liberty Square riverboat is pulled out of the water is anyone’s guess. However, the recent movement would suggest that Disney is finally ready to do something with the vessel.
