Legendary Imagineer and Disney Legend Joe Rohde is finally releasing a long-awaited book. Floating Mountains: The Art of Imagining the Impossible is officially available for pre-order ahead of its September 8th release date. We immediately pre-ordered the book (before we even wrote about its availability), and it looks like we’re not alone! Disney fans have responded well, rocketing Floating Mountains to the top of multiple Amazon Best Seller lists.
Joe Rohde’s New Book Tops Amazon Best Sellers Lists
According to Amazon, Floating Mountains is currently #1 in multiple Amazon Best Seller lists. Floating Mountains is currently #1 in Travel & Explorer Biographies, #1 in the Entertainment Industry, and #1 in Popular Psychology, Creativity & Genius. The book is working to crack the top 100 of all books on Amazon.
In his announcement of Floating Mountains, Rohde said that the book is “full of stories of adventure, design, creativity, and autobiographical vignettes (when relevant)”. Rohde says that Floating Mountains is a journey through the key ideas that he believes are important for group creativity to thrive. Rohde notes that the book is illustrated, too!
Guests can expect many of the stories within the book to be related to Rohde’s storied career as a Walt Disney Imagineer, but he says that the book is not written for Disney fans alone. Rohde says that there are stories from his explorations in the Himalayas and Mongolia, along with his work with other organizations, plus treatises and musings on the art of science and the science of art.
