The Disney Destiny cruise ship has been named as one of TIME’s World’s Greatest Places 2026. The cruise ship is Disney’s seventh cruise ship, and the latest Wish-class ship to take to the high seas. The Disney Destiny cruise ship had its inaugural sailing in November 2025. Here’s why TIME has named the ship as one of the World’s Greatest Places for 2026.

The Disney Destiny draws on the legacies of Disney’s larger-than-life heroes and villains to create a vacation experience that is unique on the high seas. Part of Disney Cruise Line’s unprecedented period of growth and expansion, the Disney Destiny – sister ship to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure – sails out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Its inaugural season includes four-and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean, including visits to one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Here’s what TIME says about the Disney Destiny:

From the moment passengers step into the Wakanda-inspired Grand Hall—where decorative metalwork on the columns takes cues from Queen Ramonda’s crown and a statue of T’Challa holds court—it’s clear that Disney Destiny is not your typical family cruise. Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, which began sailing in November, is its first heroes-and-villains-themed vessel, with Marvel, Pixar, and Disney characters steering the experience from atrium to aft.

At the Worlds of Marvel restaurant, Rocket and Groot oversee a dinner service pairing on-screen storytelling and trivia, while The Sanctum bar channels Doctor Strange-style mysticism with cocktails named Vapors of Valtor and Mirror Dimension.

Disney Hercules features a 24-member cast and an enormous hydra puppet, one of the brand’s most technically complex productions at sea. Loki, Cruella de Vil, and Maleficent roam the ship freely, and kids ages 3 to 10 train at the Marvel Super Hero Academy, designing suits and testing powers in virtual missions.

The heroics peak in the Iron Man-themed Tower Suite, a two-story penthouse tucked into the forward funnel with a private elevator. The ship sails four- and five-night itineraries from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas and western Caribbean, but it isn’t the routing that sets it apart; it’s how fully the experience caters to adult superfans as well as families.
