Disney Files Six Permits for Work at Art of Animation Resort Guest Buildings

A block of new Notice of Commencement permits has been filed by Walt Disney World for six guest buildings at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The campus-style resort has ten buildings in total, so these new permits surpass the 50% mark. Here’s a look at the permits and what kind of impact guests can expect while the work takes place.

Permits Filed for Mechanical Work at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Earlier today, Walt Disney World filed six new permits for “mechanical work” at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Each permit lists a different guest building, but they all list Ferran Services & Contracting Inc. as the contractor.

Ferran Services as the contractor does start to narrow things down a bit, as does the scope of work. With “mechanical work” as the scope and Ferran Services as the contractor, we can assume that the work will be related to the air conditioning, plumbing, or electrical for these buildings. The owner of the permit is Disney’s Facility Asset Management group, indicating that the work is maintenance-related.

With no refurbishment notice posted to the Walt Disney World website, and a 1-year expiration date, we would assume that the work will be for the buildings, but not to the extent that it will impact the guest experience.

As of right now, there is no announced refurbishment of guest rooms at the buildings.

The addresses in the permits resolve to the following buildings:

  • Building 1: Cars
  • Building 2: Cars
  • Building 3: Cars
  • Building 4: Finding Nemo
  • Building 5: Finding Nemo
  • Building 6: The Lion King
