Disney revealed new details about both Piston Peak National Park attractions at D23 Expo 2026. Michael Hundgen, Vice President Creative for Walt Disney World, and Imagineer Jason Grandt joined the Imagineering: Horizons panel. The panel confirmed the name and concept for a second attraction within, Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along. It also added new details to the previously announced rally race ride, revealed to be named Cars Ridge Run Rally. Here’s a closer look!
Disney Reveals Piston Peak’s Two Attractions at D23 Expo

Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along
Imagineers used the Disney Experiences stage at D23 Expo to confirm Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along as the second attraction coming to Piston Peak National Park. Miss Fritter is the demolition derby champion introduced in Cars 3. She headlines the ride as a massive school-bus-sized animatronic. Imagineers described the character hosting her own demolition derby inside the attraction, giving guests a spinning ride experience built around her personality.
The reveal builds on the previously announced Cars-themed expansion of Frontierland. Disney first detailed the project at the 2024 D23 Expo. Piston Peak National Park has been under construction since Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America closed permanently, and tonight marks the first time Disney has named Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along attraction publicly.
Cars Ridge Run Rally Route Detailed
Imagineers also walked through the layout of Cars Ridge Run Rally, the off-road racing attraction previously confirmed for Piston Peak. The course sends guests climbing toward the mountain’s snow-covered summit. From there, riders descend through a series of dips before finishing with a run through a geyser field. The geysers will appear to chase guests toward the mountain’s largest geyser, and the course then loops back for a sprint to the finish line. Lightning McQueen and Mater provide commentary on the race from the finish line.
A new ride vehicle system is coming with the attraction, according to Imagineers. Rather than simulating the feeling of off-roading, the vehicles physically respond to the terrain. Their tires and suspension react to the course in real time.
A 225-square-foot scale model of the completed Piston Peak National Park was also on display for D23 attendees. It stood in the Imagineering: Horizons pavilion, giving fans their first physical look at how the mountain, waterway, and attraction buildings fit together.
Piston Peak’s Place in Frontierland’s Storytelling
Alongside the attraction reveals, Disney published new details about how Piston Peak National Park fits into Frontierland’s broader storytelling. According to Disney, the land continues a storytelling tradition that begins with Liberty Square’s colonial architecture. That tradition then carries guests through the North Woods and the Country Bear Musical Jamboree, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in New Orleans, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the Arizona bluffs.
For Piston Peak National Park, Imagineers are using a park service-inspired architectural style called “Parkitecture”. The design approach is meant to help the visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, and trail structures blend into the surrounding mountain landscape.
Disney also confirmed that trees will separate the off-road rally from the rest of Frontierland and Liberty Square. The mountain range will sit along the waterway across from Grizzly Hall.
Construction on the ground has continued to move quickly, as we reported when a tower crane first appeared at the site. Walt Disney Imagineering also filed an amended construction permit for the site on July 23rd. The permit covers demolition, infrastructure prep, and utility modification through the coming year.
