The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is back for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026. This is the main stage show for the party, with multiple showtimes per night in front of Cinderella Castle. The show welcomes the Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus, as they try to put together the most villainous party Magic Kingdom has ever seen. The show returns with the same main story beats, but there have been some upgrades throughout the show, none more stunning than lighting during the opening sequence. Here’s our look at the 2026 updates to the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, both through photos and a full show video!

  • New backup dancer costumes and lighting changes for the Season of the Witch opening
  • A new green backlight for the Sanderson Sisters’ entrance
  • Blocking and choreography updates throughout the Dr. Facilier and Oogie Boogie segments

We’ve been big fans of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular since it debuted more than a decade ago at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. With some rumors floating around that the show may have been on the ropes in recent years, we’re happy to see it return for another year. While the show remains substantially the same as years past, there have been some changes to upgrade the visuals of the show. Here’s a scene-by-scene breakdown of the show, what is new this year, and a number of photos. Keep reading to the end to find the full show video from the first show of opening night.

Season of the Witch Opening

The backup dancers have new costumes this year. Not only do the females have more elaborate, fully-covered costumes than years past, but they have a new hood that allows them to create a darker, more witch-y look during the opening sequence. Instead of candelabras, the performers have candles that can more acutely light their faces. It leads to some more dramatic scenes (and photos) during an opening sequence that keeps a high-energy version of Season of the Witch for music.

Sanderson Sisters Arrive

With a crack of lightning, thunder, and some flashes of light, Winifred, Sarah, and Mary appear. Their arrival is backlit by a striking green light this year, creating phenomenal silhouettes. This is a smart upgrade for their entrance. It’s a split second, but we snapped away to capture their new entrance.

The dialogue throughout the show remains the same as in years past. The three sisters are mic’d, so there might be some variation, but it’s substantially the same. During their welcome segment, the background dancers have left the stage – a change from last year. Eventually, they will return for Sarah’s solo moment when she sings “Come, Little Children”.

Dr. Facilier’s Sinister Shadows

After the sisters establish that they need to put together a party potion comprised of different villains for their Halloween bash, Dr. Facilier is the first to appear…out of the shadows. Some of the choreography here has changed as it relates to the positioning of the cards and the characters.

Ooogie Boogie’s Nefarious Nightmares

There have been some notable changes for the blocking during the Oogie Boogie segment, but other than that, the words and song remain the same.

Maleficent’s Frightful Friends

The final ingredient of the Hocus Pocus Party Potion is “frightful friends”. Out of nowhere, a flash of green light and a clap of thunder mark Maleficent’s arrival. We get the same parade of villains here, each adding their own brand of evil to the party potion.

Potion Complete, “I Put a Spell On You” Finale

With all of the villains assembled and the hair of an innocent added to the mix, the Hocus Pocus Party Potion is complete! The final thing to do is to enchant the guests watching, and Winifred has just the thing. The leading sister sings the classic “I Put a Spell On You” song, and the audience can’t help but join in.

  1. why… why… why… it Disney focused on a not that popular IP of Hocus Pocus when they have Nightmare Before Christmas that is massively popular they could use for that show. I actually dislike this show, three relatively unknown IP characters on a stage talking about nothing.
