Scaffolding Arrives for Canada Waterfall Refurbishment at EPCOT

|

Scaffolding has arrived for a waterfall refurb at EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion. The scaffolding now covers a wide stretch of the pavilion’s rockwork near the feature waterfall. The breadth of the scaffolding suggests Disney’s project here is bigger than a single water feature. We stopped by for a fresh look at how far the work has grown since construction walls first appeared around the waterfall.

Scaffolding Now Covers a Wide Stretch of Canada Pavilion Rockwork

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • Scaffolding now climbs across a wide section of the Canada Pavilion’s rockwork, not just the waterfall.
  • Frosted glass now blocks views of the work from inside the Canada Far & Wide lobby.
  • The scope suggests a fuller rockwork refresh rather than a single-feature repair.

Multiple scaffolding platforms now stretch across the rockwork in front of the pavilion’s signature 30-foot waterfall, visible from the overlook near Hotel du Canada. The scaffolding rises in tiers. Metal decking bridges several sections of the rock formation. Cloth barriers hang over portions of it, blocking views after a certain height.

The footprint here goes past the waterfall itself. Scaffolding now covers rock faces well to the side of the falls, and even stretches toward the front of the pavilion. Construction materials and buckets sit staged for the upcoming work.

A Look From Inside Canada Far & Wide

Windows inside the Canada Far & Wide lobby normally offer views out toward the rockwork and waterfall. Those windows are now covered in frosted glass. Guests waiting for the film still get some light, but views of the work are blocked.

As we reported when construction walls first surrounded the waterfall walkway, the walls closed off the ground-level path along the stream. They also extended up to the overlook near Hotel du Canada. Canada Far & Wide remained accessible then. It still is now, through the same two entry points.
