Test Track 3.0 at EPCOT is finally running at full capacity. Since the attraction’s July 2025 reopening, Cast Members have only utilized 75% of the load station. Rows 7 and 8 were not used, and there was no car dispatched. During a recent visit to EPCOT, we found Cast Members loading all eight rows for the first time. We also have a full POV video of the attraction with the finale doors working again. Here’s a look!

Test Track Now Loading Every Row
We visited EPCOT recently and noticed Cast Members waving guests into rows 7 and 8 on Test Track. That’s something we hadn’t seen since the attraction reopened last summer. For more than a year, only the first six rows of the load station were in use. The final two rows stayed unused. From what we can tell, that changed within roughly the last month.
Loading all eight rows brings Test Track up to its full capacity. That should translate into shorter standby waits and more throughput, but it’s too early to tell. Simply put, the attraction now has more guests per dispatch. It’s also possible that there are now more vehicles in play, but we’re not sure if that’s the case or not. We don’t know what specifically prompted Disney to begin loading the back rows now. It’s worth noting that another long-running issue at the attraction was also recently resolved, which we’ll get into below.
Our POV Video of the Fixed Sliding Doors
Test Track’s finale doors are working again too, and we made it out to EPCOT to grab an updated full ride-through video with the effect working. A Test Track ride vehicle hit the foam sliding doors in the grand finale scene last July during Cast Member previews. The doors apparently failed to open properly, and the incident left four guests requiring on-site treatment. None were transported to the hospital. As we reported at the time, Disney turned the door effect off following the malfunction. It stayed off through the attraction’s public reopening and for months afterward. Within the past few days, the effect returned.
During our recent visit to EPCOT, we hopped on Test Track to see the effect ourselves. The doors now appear to open earlier in the launch sequence than they did before last year’s incident, giving the vehicle more clearance as it accelerates toward the outdoor loop.
The doors also serve a different purpose in the current version of the ride than they did in earlier iterations of Test Track. Earlier versions were built toward a crash-test storyline. The current doors primarily work to keep light from bleeding into the finale scene, where projected media showcases future transportation technology. Keeping the doors closed until the last possible moment helps those projections shine clearly before the vehicle bursts outside.
Are the Two Changes Connected?
The return of full-capacity loading and the fixed sliding doors may be related. While unconfirmed, it’s possible that there was a timing issue that was addressed with either the fixing of the doors or the introduction of operating the ride at full capacity.
