Disney Cruise Line has added more sailings to its Onboard Offer Placeholder Reservation discount list. The updated list, posted on the Disney Cruise Line website, now includes eligible sailings through September 2027. Guests who apply a Placeholder Reservation to one of the newly added sailings can save up to 25% on the voyage fare.

The Onboard Offer lets guests currently sailing on a Disney cruise book a Placeholder Reservation for a future cruise. That future cruise must depart within 24 months. Most sailings qualify for a standard 10% discount off the voyage fare. Disney Cruise Line also maintains a separate list of select sailings eligible for a bigger discount, either 20% or 25% off, when a guest applies a Placeholder Reservation. Guests can additionally use a Placeholder Reservation to book a Concierge Stateroom in categories 02B and lower on select sailings, saving an extra 10% off the voyage fare. Standard and additional blockout dates apply to those Concierge bookings.
Disney Cruise Line’s latest update expands the discounted list to include sailings through September 2027. The eligible sailings span Bahamian, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Baja, Alaskan, and Singapore itineraries. Several of the newly added sailings include Marvel Days at Sea or Pixar Days at Sea. Blockout dates still apply, and they vary by sailing and discount tier, so guests should check the current list closely before booking.
Existing Reservations Get Automatic Discount Increases
Guests who already applied a Placeholder Reservation to a sailing now on the expanded discount list don’t need to do anything. If that existing reservation becomes eligible for a higher discount, Disney Cruise Line will apply the increased savings automatically. There’s no need to call or rebook to receive the adjustment.
Guests who already paid their reservation in full will get the difference back as a refund. That refund goes to the original form of payment. Disney Cruise Line says affected guests have already begun to receive SeaMail if their discount has increased. Those with existing Placeholder bookings should watch for that message to confirm any change.
How to Use a Placeholder Reservation
A Placeholder Reservation requires a $250 deposit per stateroom, paid while still onboard the ship. It’s fully refundable if a guest cancels before selecting a future cruise. The offer is limited to one future booking per household, for a maximum of two staterooms. At least one member of the original sailing party must sail in one of the staterooms on the new booking. Once a guest converts a Placeholder Reservation into a confirmed booking, they can’t change it back, and standard cancellation fees kick in from that point.
The discount applies only to the voyage fare, not taxes, fees, or port expenses. It also can’t be combined with other offers, including the Guaranteed Staterooms with Restrictions discount. Guests can convert a Placeholder Reservation through My Reservations, by calling the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center, or through a travel advisor. Households that booked a Placeholder Reservation for two staterooms on the same sailing need to call the Contact Center directly. That option isn’t available online.
