The Mandalorian and Grogu have moved to a traditional meet-and-greet in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios over the past week. Mando and Grogu now meet next to the Millennium Falcon, where Chewbacca used to greet guests. Chewbacca took over the spot at the end of the Marketplace area where Mando previously met. Here’s the latest!

Mandalorian and Grogu Meet and Greet in Galaxy’s Edge

  • Where Chewbacca moved to during the swap.
  • How the change fits with other Galaxy’s Edge characters, including the ones that still roam.

Mando and Grogu debuted in Galaxy’s Edge in March 2023 as roaming characters, with large crowds following them through the Marketplace. Guests can now find the duo in a set spot beside the Falcon instead. Chewbacca made the opposite trip, trading the corner near the Falcon for the end of the Marketplace. We photographed both new setups at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Mandalorian and Grogu Now Meet Beside the Millennium Falcon

Guests will find the Mandalorian and Grogu under the overhang next to the Millennium Falcon, where chain stanchions now mark out a queue. Chewbacca had been the one meeting guests beside the Falcon, after becoming the first character in Galaxy’s Edge to switch to a traditional meet and greet in July 2025.

A set location gives guests a clear place to find the duo and a guaranteed meet-and-greet opportunity. Grogu rides along in the Mandalorian’s sling, and the pair now pose in front of the rockwork beside the Falcon. That is a change from the debut, when guests waited in the sun for more than an hour without knowing when the pair would appear.

In addition to the traditional meet and greet seen above, Mando does roam twice per day. That roaming includes a new visit to Oga’s Cantina. Of course, Grogu looks a little too young to be in the cantina, so Mando roams there alone. Those roaming opportunities are not advertised or guaranteed. That said, guests looking to experience the traditional meet and greet can find times in the My Disney Experience app.

Chewbacca Takes Over the End of the Marketplace

Chewbacca now meets guests at the end of the Marketplace area, where Mando used to meet. A large gate set into the rockwork forms the backdrop, and guests line up along the path leading to it.

The change continues a shift toward traditional meet-and-greets in Galaxy’s Edge. Characters once roamed the land as if they lived there, but Disney has now moved some of them to set locations. Others, including Rey and Kylo Ren, continue to roam. The mix gives guests a reliable spot to meet some characters and a chance at a surprise encounter with others. Disney did not return a request for comment on the shift to more traditional meet and greets within Galaxy’s Edge.
