The Haunted Mansion is currently undergoing a lengthy exterior refurbishment. A giant themed scrim has been draped over the entire exterior facade since June.
The ride is operating as normal, with the only hindrance to guests, besides the appearance, is that a small section of the queue is walled off. Instead of FastPass going straight to the outdoor holding area, it is now merged with the standby line at the entrance to the extended graveyard section. Guests are then routed through the graveyard scene, and through a small section that is normally gated off.
The only visible work being done is the canopy that is removed.
While we still think the refurbishment could last for at least a few more weeks, according to @WDWToday, the exterior work will be complete in time for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party, kicking off this Friday.
The Haunted Mansion should be ready and delightfully unlivable for the upcoming swinging wake! ???
