Over the past few weeks, Walt Disney World has been refreshing the pavement around the popular Haunted Mansion attraction in Liberty Square. The work has included refreshing and replacing some of the worn-down pavement at the attraction’s exit and entrance. There has been no change to the style of the pavement, simply a like-for-like replacement of the existing style. We made it out to Magic Kingdom recently to take a look at the project, and speculate a bit about what could be next.

Haunted Mansion Cobblestone Pavement Refresh

We’ll start our look at the work with a look back at what the area was like before the refresh. We took the following “historic” photos back in February during an early morning breakdown when the queue was empty.

Now, let’s take a look at the pavement refresh project, starting at the attraction’s entrance, where just a sliver of work was left to be done when we visited. At this point, we’d hesitate to call the project “complete” when this work is finished at the entrance. It’s possible that the project will head into the queue a bit once the current phase is complete. We’ll have to wait and see though, because the project isn’t listed by Disney due to the nature of no construction walls and no attraction downtime.

Here’s a look at the completed work at the exit pathway and PhotoPass location closer to the Mansion itself. We’ve also included a comparison between the newly refreshed pavement and the existing pavement in the queue.
