Magic Kingdom Resort Boats & Routes Swap Docks

Two of the resort launch boat docks at Magic Kingdom have traded places. Boats for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground now load at boat dock #2, the space Grand Floridian and Polynesian boats used before the change. Grand Floridian and Polynesian boats now use the dock directly across from the Magic Kingdom entrance, where the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness boats loaded until now. Each pairing still shares a dock.

Resort launches connect Magic Kingdom with four resorts (for now). Grand Floridian and Polynesian still share one dock, and Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness share the other. What changed is the dock each group uses.

At boat dock #2, a Resort Launches sign hangs beneath a numbered 2 Boat Dock marker. A smaller sign below it names Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground. Guests heading to either resort can confirm they are in the right spot at a glance. In our photos, the Resort Monorail sign sits just past the dock entrance, a handy landmark for guests getting their bearings.

The Grand Floridian and Polynesian dock now sits across from the Magic Kingdom entrance, under a canopy with numbered Entrance 2 and Entrance 3 gates. A hanging sign names Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Behind the gates, a long pier stretches toward the water. Guests used to the old layout should confirm which dock they need, since the two stops have traded places.

Nearby Ferryboat Dock Construction

We don’t know why the swap happened. It’s also unclear whether the move is permanent or a temporary one while nearby construction takes place. Work on the Magic Kingdom ferryboat dock expansion began in June. Later updates showed construction walls and a barge in the Seven Seas Lagoon along the guest walkway.

Disney says the fourth Magic Kingdom ferryboat will debut in 2027.
