Monstropolis Shingles Now Have Teal & Gold Pops of Color

Teal and gold shingles now add color to the Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza and restroom building complex in Monstropolis. We visited Hollywood Studios today and found the gable shingles, still gray and pitted on October 3rd, now brown with gold and teal pieces scattered through the rows. A lower band beneath the cream sawtooth trim has a copper and teal finish. Here’s the latest!

Teal and Gold Shingles Add Color to Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios

Monstropolis is taking over the former Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the Archie’s building is moving through theming faster than its neighbors right now. When we checked in on October 3rd, the red brick, bronze columns, and cream trim looked finished, but some gable shingles were still gray. Those shingles now have pops of color.

Teal and Gold Accents Brighten the Gable

The gable now has a chocolate brown base with gold and teal shingles scattered through the rows. Gold pieces have a metallic sheen, and the teal ones carry a speckled, pitted texture. Together they give the siding a weathered, almost gingerbread-like look that plays against the riveted bronze columns nearby.

Beyond the gable, the weathered yellow water tower and its teal stack repeat the same colors above the roofline, which loosely ties the whole building together. I’m still not convinced this is the final look, but it’s been fun to watch the progress.

Copper and Teal Patina on the Lower Shingles

A second band of shingles sits beneath the cream sawtooth trim, beside a riveted bronze column. These have a darker brown base with copper and bronze tones and teal-green patches that resemble aged copper. The colors blend more softly than the bolder gold and teal in the gable. It’s possible that this lower cluster more closely resembles the final look for the shingles.

Scaffolding still wraps around most of the building, so for now we see the colors between the poles. Restroom signage at ground level sits below the scaffolding. These shingles cover the upper levels of the combined restroom and restaurant building. Disney says Archie’s will open in 2027 as part of Monstropolis’ phased opening, though it has not announced an exact date. The paint work here, combined with other work throughout the land such as walkway formation, is encouraging.
