A Closer Look at the New Theming
Several window frames along this stretch of facade now include horn-shaped extensions built directly into the frame. It’s a small detail, but it’s a clear sign Imagineers have moved past structural work here. This is the same complex we’ve watched take shape since facade work first expanded across the former Muppets Courtyard, and the monster-specific theming is now starting to show.
The roofline trim has received its own theming details as well. Crews cut it into a jagged pattern that looks like a row of teeth running along the top of the facade. Paired with the horned windows, this section of the building already has a distinctly monstrous personality.
Crews have also added faux metal paneling finished with a raised rivet-like pattern. The riveted panels sit alongside the horned windows and toothy roofline trim. Together, they give the building an industrial, yet distinctly monstrous, look. On a hard-hat tour earlier this year, Disney executives said they want Monstropolis to feel like a real city rather than a purely animated set.
