Disney has completely removed one of the four entrance columns leading into Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. An identical column with a telehandler ready to pull it out sat nearby, suggesting it could get the same treatment. This isn’t something we see very often, so it’ll be interesting to continue tracking the changes at the entrance. Here’s the latest.

Concrete Column Removed from Monstropolis Entrance
While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we noticed that one of the columns was missing from the Monstropolis entrance. A Sunbelt Rentals telehandler was also spotted. It looked ready to remove a second concrete column. Cables ran from the machine’s forks down to lifting eyes near the top of the column.
It seems like Disney may be removing some or all of these columns. We’re not sure why they are being removed. If all four are removed, it would suggest some sort of error instead of accidental damage. Interestingly, we noticed early last month that the entrance began taking shape with a curved walkway departing from Disney’s original concept art.
