The notice names Walt Disney Imagineering as owner, with an address matching The Glob theater building. The description of the work reads simply “Electrical Work,” with no further detail on scope. The permit carries a standard 1-year expiration timeframe, offering no insight as to the actual length of the work.
Elite A/V Systems has recently been used by Disney for work on Zootopia: Better Zoogether at Animal Kingdom, for work on Test Track at EPCOT, and on updates for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom.
Work At The Glob So Far
The former MuppetVision 3D theater closed on June 8th, 2025, after more than three decades of operation. Muppets Courtyard began its phased shutdown around the same time to make way for Monstropolis. Permits have since tracked steady progress inside the building, from early set installation work to this latest electrical filing. Exterior work has also made wonderful progress. Crews have stripped and rebuilt the theater’s brick facade as part of the surrounding city streetscape.
Disney has confirmed The Glob will house a theater show, though details of the show itself remain unannounced. On a recent hard-hat tour, Imagineering executives shared that the theater show would be packed with technology.
