“Try Our Cans” Restroom Sign, More Final Look Facade Revealed for Monstropolis

More scaffolding has come down at Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza in Monstropolis, revealing a painted “Try Our Cans” sign from the “Can Co.” on the brick. The sign sits above the land’s public restrooms, which are part of the Archie’s building complex at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Crews are also still working on the facade, including the second-floor balcony and the main entrance. Here’s the latest.

Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza takes over the former PizzeRizzo building. Teal and gold shingles already add color to its gable. With scaffolding gone from the restroom side, we can see much more of the brick wall and the upper windows. The painted sign is the biggest new detail.

Crews painted the sign directly onto the red brick. Yellow block letters with a dark shadow stack “Try” and “Our” on the left. A larger “Cans” fills the right side, and above the lettering, a smaller “Can Co.” logo sits in a rounded frame. The mortar lines show through the yellow paint, so the sign looks like a weathered wall ad.

This sign plays on two meanings. In “Monsters, Inc.,” cans are the canisters that hold scream and laugh energy. That makes the sign read like an ad from a canister company. The wall also sits right above the restrooms, and “cans” is slang for those too. A green “Public Restrooms” sign hangs below the lettering, which sets up the joke.

On October 12th, scaffolding still wrapped most of the building, and the restroom signage sat below it. Now the lettering is visible above that signage.

Columns, Windows, and Gable Details

The bronze columns look sharper without as much scaffolding around them. Pointed spikes top each one, and the speckled, rust-colored paint has rows of round rivet heads. That matches the weathered riveted-metal finish crews painted on a faceted corner piece in September.

On the upper level, a row of five arched windows with cream surrounds sits on the second floor. Pointed extensions on each surround appear to be the horn-shaped frame details we first spotted in July. A sawtooth sill runs beneath each window. The window on the far left looks into a white interior with a black edge. Orange panels fill the others. The second window from the right also seems to have a bronze panel and a bracket with gray conduit. It’s not clear yet what the bracket will hold, but my guess is a faux air conditioning unit.

At ground level, a small excavator was working in front of two arched openings. Higher up, the gable has the brown, teal, and gold scalloped shingles from October 12th. Three arched openings with cream surrounds hold orange-brown panels. The weathered yellow water tower and its teal stack still sit above the roofline. This side of the complex is looking sharp.

Balcony Steelwork and Main Entrance Work

On the second floor, the balcony’s metal arches stand out against the older tan building behind them. They are still bare metal, as they were on October 3rd, with wood posts and steel brackets between each arch. Green railings and a green stair are already in place, and a guardrail runs along the roof above.

Crews are working at the main entrance as well. We saw workers in high-visibility vests near the balcony stairs. Scaffolding still stands to the right, so more of this facade remains hidden. Disney says Archie’s will open in 2027 as part of the phased opening for Monstropolis.
